The Joseon Founding Alliance is a secret society organized by domestic socialists on August 10, 1944, with Yeo Woon-hyung as the chairman, in preparation for the defeat of Japanese imperialism and the liberation of Joseon, at Samgwang Clinic in Gyeongun-dong, Seoul, where Hyun Woo-hyeon lived. As the organization expanded further with the participation of Lee Yeo-seong and Lee Man-gyu in the founding alliance, a nationwide network was opened and many people gathered.
The Founding Alliance established three principles: ‘non-written’ to not leave documents, ‘unspoken’ not to speak, and ‘unnamed’ not to say names. In addition, to unite all factions of each person and to build all the forces of Japanese imperialism through national unity, to restore the freedom and independence of the Joseon people, and to cooperate with the anti-Axis Empire to unite with Japan. Forming a front line and eradicating all reactionary forces that impede the complete independence of Joseon, all demonstrations in the field of construction should be based on democratic principles, with particular emphasis on the liberation of the working and peasant masses. The federation expanded its organization nationwide by organizing the Farmers' Alliance, Women's Alliance, Youth Workers' Movement, School Students' Movement, Railway Employees' Movement, and Teacher's Cell Organization Movement as auxiliary organizations. He also established a military committee for the purpose of disrupting the military and creating an army. In particular, in order to achieve liberation independently and independently by joining forces with the anti-Japanese armed forces of overseas Koreans at a critical time, regardless of the ideology of the left or right, actively promote union with overseas Korean anti-Japanese groups and link with the Yan'an Independence Alliance in China While doing so, they also carried out cooperative operations with the Joseon Uiyong Army.
After being discovered by the Japanese police on August 4, 1945, officers such as Jo Dong-ho and Lee Gul-so were arrested and imprisoned. However, on August 11, Lee Man-gyu wrote the Declaration of Independence, knowing in advance that Japan surrendered, and when Japan surrendered on August 15, several executives, including Yeo Woon-hyung, were concerned about public safety after being released from prison, and formed the Founding Youth Security Corps.
After liberation, because it was a secret organization, confusion and division occurred in its activities. With the inauguration of the Joseon National Preparatory Committee on August 15, the legitimacy of the organization was broken due to a merit fight among members, and members were absorbed or dispersed into various political parties and political factions. After the Joseon Founding Preparatory Committee was organized, a separate office was set up at the Christian Youth Center in Jongno, Seoul, and it was used by dispatched members of the Joseon Founding Preparatory Committee and the Gosupa of the Joseon Founding Alliance Headquarters. After that, with the resolution to dismantle the Founding Alliance progressively, on November 12, 1945, the Korean People's Party was formed and virtually disbanded.
